NVIDIA Plans $3 Billion Investment to Expand Meta Partnership on Muse AI Models

NVIDIA Plans $3 Billion Investment in Meta’s Muse AI Models

NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) has made plans to invest $3 billion in Meta’s equity offering. This comes at a time when the company is looking to expand their AI collaboration. The expanded partnership aims to cover model training and interference. Both companies intend to optimize workflows to improve performance and reduce the total cost of operating AI systems.

The companies said they would expand their work on Meta’s Muse family of models to improve training and inference performance. This latest announcement barely comes a day after Meta announced approximately $35 billion in proposed stock and convertible preferred offerings.

The latest happenings are aimed at deepening the financial ties between an AI computing equipment supplier and a customer. This comes at the right time considering it is going to expand the use of their equipment.

Meta has also proposed a $60 billion program as part of the financing to sell shares of its new nonvoting Class C stock. The decision is expected to start no earlier than the first quarter of 2027. However, the company revealed that proceeds coming from the program’s establishment remain uncertain.

Meta is looking to expand their deployments of NVIDIA Vera Rubin systems and Vera CPUs for next-generation AI agents. This they plan to do alongside Spectrum-X Ethernet networking and BlueField-4 infrastructure. The main reason behind doing this is to support network efficiency and data throughput.

The two companies are also planning to make an additional collaboration on NVIDIA’s OpenShell Reference Architecture. This also includes OpenShell for safer AI agent deployment and Sentry for monitoring agent behavior.

The expanded collaboration aims to optimize workflows and reduce the overall cost of running Muse. Both companies agreed the models had achieved strong benchmark results and consumer downloads had surged. Despite this, they didn’t offer any download totals, benchmark comparisons or quantified efficiency targets in their statement.

If you’ve closely been following Meta then you can agree that their commitment underscores the scale of their infrastructure needs. The company forecast 2026 capital expenditures. This includes principal payments on finances leases, of $135 billion to $145 billion in its Oct. 21 earnings releases.

Well, this narrows its previous range of $130 billion to $145 billion. Third-quarter capital spending reached $34.91 billion. However, their free cash flow was negative $2.12 billion.

Meta introduced Muse on 8th September as a personal agent capable of browsing websites, booking travel and completing tasks across connected services. It is important to note that each agent runs in a dedicated cloud-based virtual machine.

And the best part is that it can keep on working once a user closes the app. This new design makes computing efficiency relevant to the cost of serving users over extended periods. NVIDIAs proposed $3 billion investment remains subject to completion of the equity offering.

For now, we have to wait and see how this collaboration is going to change the industry. But it already feels like good things are bound to come our way.
